On this course, you will learn how to design and create beautiful floral arrangements and installations for a range of customers, occasions and events.

You will explore colour, composition, style and current trends, while developing the practical techniques needed to work confidently with fresh flowers, foliage and other floristry materials.

You will also learn how to:

  • Create design ideas, sketches and mood boards
  • Select, prepare and care for fresh flowers and foliage
  • Produce hand-tied bouquets, arrangements and wired designs
  • Plan and install floral displays for events
  • Prepare costings, quotations and buying lists
  • Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers
  • Use floristry tools and equipment safely
  • Complete risk assessments and plan deliveries
  • Respond to changes in a customer’s requirements
  • Evaluate and improve your finished work

The course combines creative design with practical craftsmanship, business skills and professional experience. You will develop the confidence to take an idea from the initial design stage through to the completed floral display, while working to a professional standard.
