Course Summary

Whether you’re currently working in the farming industry or thinking about starting your career, it’s important to understand the changes and developments in the equipment you’ll use on a daily basis.

If you have a passion for large machinery and an interest in science, engineering and technology, agricultural engineering could be for you. You may already be interested in the farming industry, and this programme will prepare you to work with agricultural machinery. However, the skills and knowledge you develop are also relevant to forestry, horticulture, sports turf and plant machinery and equipment.

Agricultural machinery uses advanced technologies such as GPS, so it’s important to keep up with changes and developments in the industry. At Plumpton, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of equipment, developing the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to maintain, operate and repair modern machinery confidently and competently to industry standards.

You’ll also take part in fleet maintenance and restoration projects and complete an industry work placement, giving you valuable hands-on experience.
